Here is the glossary to provide you background information for some of the countries and terms you may encounter while reading DRWG as well as other GIFTY Parlaya fangans:
PARLAYA
The parallel planet of Earth. Named after Sir Parlaya, the heroic figure that banished the world-ending satanic figure Syrmynsa by sacrificing himself, therefore saving the entire world from apocalyptic destruction. That is why 98.5% of the population’s religion is Parlayism, dedicated to worship and give eternal gratitude to the savior that saved the world from evil. The holy script equivalent to our planet’s Bible / Quran is called the Dividex.
There are five continents in Parlaya: Auraeva, Ujana, Shamari, Rarango and Chapcha. There are a total of 70 countries, some of its culture and language greatly resemble those from Earth (notable examples being Nichiyou and Japan, Parlayan Union and the United States). The majority of them are absolute monarchy and constitutional monarchy, with only six being democratic republics.
Parlaya possesses three distinct aspects that makes it different from Earth. Firstly, its technological advancement is 100 years ahead of Earth. Some of its greatest achievements include but not limited to producing interdimensional portals to our planet, and the invention of zero-gravity technology: flying transporations, and the floating Apex City.
The second aspect is the existence of a very mysterious, luminescent mineral that grants most living beings supernatural powers called arghantium (also known as ‘teardrops of heaven’ in Fhongriland). To be precise, wearing arghantium accessories or implanting arghantium into one’s body grants most humans the ability to convert’s soul into a life force that is able to externally affect the world called aura. The granted abilities the arghantium grants is called aura power or aura ability. People that is able to use aura is called aura users. It is 100% possible to be born with aura without an arghantium if either or both parents possess aura.
The world of arghantium and aura is generally not known by the public due to the risk of aura power’s unlimited potential falling into the wrong hands, therefore it is only known by the science and technology communities. Importing arghantiums is illegal in most countries, therefore arghantium smuggling and auctions are very common in the criminal underworld.
And finally, the most perplexing aspects of Parlaya is its time and solar system:
- There are 16 hours a day, 40 minutes in an hour, and 40 seconds in an hour.
- There are 20 days in a week, meaning there are 60 days in a month
- There are 15 months in a year, every five months is called a pentamester, meaning there are three pentamesters in a Parlayan year.
- There are two suns in Parlaya’s solar system, Parlaya is situated in the middle of the two suns’ orbit, namely Rascoldi and Strasaldi.
- Due to having two suns, Parlaya rarely ever sees a period of total darkness like Earth’s nighttime, therefore Parlayans split a day into worktime and resttime.
- Because there are two moons in Parlaya, namely Nesnaya and Etsraya, sometimes one flies quite close to Parlaya, its gravity distorts Parlaya’s orbit so year can be reduced to about 883 days.
- Parlaya’s size is slightly larger than Earth, therefore the Parlayan gravity is lower than Earth’s gravity.

NICHIYOU
Nichiyou (日耀, “gleaming sun”), one of the main setting of GIFTY Parlaya fangans, is a diarchy located in the eastern side of the continent Ujana. It is the planet Parlaya’s equivalent of Japan. The country is currently ruled by both the imperial family of House Motokuni (基邦) and Prime Minister Ishida Yukiomi (石田 行臣). The capital and largest city is Daikyoichi (大京壹, “number one great capital”). Considered to be one of the most well-known and wealthiest countries in Parlaya, it is well-known for:
- Its highly seasoned cuisine and high-quality seafood
- Its Nichizan mountain range spreading across 78% of its landmass.
- Its giant mountainous forest called Fukamori Forest.
- Its aromatic matcha cultivar from Kinuta Prefecture.
- Its everlasting solidarity with Fhongriland thanks to its history of taking in Fhongri immigrants
- Its Nichiyonese-Fhongri cultural blend of both traditional customs and modern ideals
- Its underworld criminal syndicates (Team Rekka, the disbanded Iwami-gumi)
- The Four Great Families (House Motokuni, Saizaki Clan, Akayama Family, and Mieda Clan)
- Yomogi Academy specialized in producing world-renown A-list actors and actresses
- Veteran detectives / private investigators (Maeda Fumitoshi, Maeda Minako, Tomoyasu Souji, Tomoyasu Seisuke)
- High-end luxury brands (Lilyrium, Kadoyuki Perfumeries)
- The prestigious university built on an artificial island called Gionji’s Institute of Talented Youths founded by Gionji Tadaomi (frequently shortened as ‘GIFTY’)

FHONGRILAND
Fhongriland is an absolute monarchy ruled by the royal Isísika Clan. There is no Earth country equivalent to this ancient Ujanese nation. Nicknamed the ‘Children of the Sky’ due to their worship of both Sir Parlaya and their belief that Fhongri people are descendants of their goddess named Fhongila, the multicolored feathered sky matron deity, therefore almost everything they do is a huge reverence to birds, the sky, and the goddess.
A land shrouded in mystery, mysticism, one-of-a-kind customs and taboos, high altitudes, herbs and medicines stunning mountain ranges, bitterly cold winters, and a history full of hardships. Here are the characteristics that makes Fhongriland unlike any other countries in the universe:
- The country is mainly divided into six clans after the bird each clan reveres: Isísika (swallow), Phaákla (golden eagle), Ruhúut (eagle owl), Eyékh (white goshawk), Káuakal (crow), and Huaurún (king eider). Each clan has their own culture, food, customs, and specialties.
- The Fhongri language (‘fhongri fhyel’) is unrelated to any other language families in Parlaya, making it a language isolate. It is notoriously difficult to learn due to its complicated sounds and a very unique writing system. Not even Hanase Shouma the Ultimate Polyglot knows how to speak or write it.
- In Fhongri culture, names are extremely important, because they believe each person is the goddess Fhongila’s precious children, therefore they deserve a name that speaks to their very essence. With that belief, the parents must let their children reach the age of 15 to name themselves as what the khárodon (the lady) wills. They can either keep the name their parents gave at the moment of their birth or they change their name of their own choice.
- Fhongriland used to be in an isolationist nation under the ever watchful eye of the Maghrárami (meaning the “Eye of the Wise”), the military coup originated from the Ruhúut Clan led by the clan leader at the time Ejuna. Citizens were not allowed to marry, trade, or even interact with any foreigners, or risk execution. To escape this oppressive regime, many Fhongri parents secretly sent their own children away to be immigrated to Nichiyou, that is why there is a large Fhongri diasporic population in Nichiyou.
- Fhongriland is arghantium’s country of origin. The first meteorite that contained arghantium crashed on the border between Phaákla, Káuakal and Ruhúut Clan. Its broken shards flew and impaled countless Fhongri people, turning 96.5% of these unfortunate victims into aura users, the remaining 3.5% perished due to their body unable to support aura.
- Arghantium comes to the Fhongri word for the arghantium itself arghándóhol, by combining arghán (“arcane, esoteric”) + dóhol (“rock”). The Fhongri people also nicknamed it ‘teardrops of heaven’.
- A few notable Fhongri GIFTies include Oniyanagi Yazaemon III the Ultimate Kabuki Actor, Ranapi the Ultimate Herbalist, Oghrémi the Ultimate Chief Purser, and Naomi the Ultimate Psychic. (both Oghrémi and Naomi are from Death Across Parlaya)

HYUNGDONG
The Democratic Republic of Hyungdong, Nichiyou’s eastern neighbor, is Parlaya’s equivalent of South Korea. It is notably Yakumo Oboro’s birth country beside Nichiyou. Here are some notable characteristics of this small Ujanese nation:
- A relatively new country compared to other 70 countries because it is formed by Korean immigrants that moved to the east coast of Fhongriland with the help of interdimensional portals.
- Because of Hyungdong’s proximity to Fhongriland, Hyungdongese borrow many words, food, and customs from the Fhongri people. Therefore, Hyungdongese is mutually unintelligible to Korean, and it is considered a separate language from Korean.
- Its current prime minister is An Sang Wol. Its capital and largest city is Mokran.
- It is notorious for being the country of origin for one of the deadliest, most terrifying Parlayism cult in Parlayan history: Our Second Savior Church, run by the cult leader Yeong Byeong Wook. Thankfully, the cult was completely wiped out by a deadly snake infestation while all 1365 members were in the religious treat located in the snowy, mountainous province of Pyobeomguk.
- Notable Hyungdongese GIFTies include Yakumo Oboro the Ultimate Perfumer, and Gu Ha Yoon the Ultimate Hitwoman (the latter is from Death Across Parlaya)

PARLAYAN UNION
Parlayan Union (frequently shortened as Parnia) is a presidential democratic republic that is the largest country in Auraeva by area. It is the main setting for Harmonious Discord. It is Parlaya’s equivalent to the United States of America. This superpower is the result of four ancient Auraevan kingdoms, speaking a common language now referred to as Yorkish, decided to unite into the most technologically advanced, multicultural country with one of the highest GDP per capita in the world. Here are some aspects of this powerful Auraevan nation:
- The four ancient kingdoms that formed Parnia was: Yorkeney, Kithilry, Mancastle, and Uster. Yorkeney is the origin of Parnia’s primary official language Yorkish, it is Parlaya’s equivalent to English.
- During the period of Technology Revolution, there was a technological schism between these four ancient kingdoms adapting the sleek, highly-futuristic electromagnetism-based Zalkorian technology and some Usterians embrace steam and gear-based technology. These Usterians will become a separate kingdom named Estgaria.
- The capital and the most technogically advanced city in the world is the world-renown Apex City. It is Parlaya’s first zero-gravity city that is currently floating in the sky. The current president Carlson Alemanno Jr. is the largest fundraiser for this ambitious project.
- Parnia houses the towering 3000-meter Statue of Sir Parlaya, the largest handcrafted statue on the planet.
- Due to GIFTY principal Gionji Tadaomi’s frequent visit to Parnia, he has established a Parnian campus situated on the floating Apex City.
